    Description

    For auction antique Royal Copenhagen figurine opium smoker .This stunning piece of Royal Copenhagen Art Deco porcelain is created by the well-known Danish sculptor Arno Malinowski (1899-1976). Malinowski completed his degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1922, and worked for the Royal Danish Porcelain Manufactory from 1921-35, where he was a prolific designer of figures. T
    he girl with an opium pipe is from a series of ethnographic subjects from Bali, Iceland and popular mythology.
    In 1936, Malinowski began working for the firm of Georg Jensen, creating jewelry, table ware and medals in silver, gold and iron.
    The figurine is hand painted with gold highlights. Please examine all photos for the amazing detail and elegant design of this piece. The underside is hallmarked and bears the issue number 2342. Stands 5 1/2 inches inches tall.Good  condition no damage .
