SO SORRY.......NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. If you are International, contact me. We can discuss shipping costs.Tiny bit of glare in upper right corner of my photo is because the print is sealed in a clear cellophane protector. The light presents a glare that is not on the actual print....just a reflection off of the protective cover. It's a beauty. Promise.
One of International Impressionist artist, KAMIL KUBIK's most exciting prints.....THE FLOOR OF THE NEW YORK MERCANTILE EXCHANGE. Look closely at the image....the action.....the people......the activity. Kamil found these subjects in the Financial District of New York to be incredibly exciting and filled with a massive amount of energy. He was nervous when first invited but after he completed his first financial subject he was hooked. He went back again....and again......and again.......creating an extensive collection of art from the many areas of the City that handled this type of business each and every single day. This print is 26" x 30" including the white border. The actual image is 20" x 26". Sizes are approximate.
Kamil and I were close friends and I have a huge amount of his art to sell. If you have no interest in this particular subject then please keep checking back. I will be posting more prints as well as a few originals which are quite rare now since the artist's passing. I have a vast amount of gorgeous WALL STREET / STOCK MARKET, WASHINGTON DC, NEW YORK CITY, BOSTON, TENNIS, US OPEN GOLF etc. prints .....and so many more subjects as well.
BACKGROUND
I met Kamil while working in politics for the State of New Jersey. During the 1990's we had an idea to find a talented artist who might accept a project to paint and therefore memorialize some of our State's most recognizable....interesting, historic locations. The collection would ultimately hang inside the State Capitol Building where it would remain for years to come to be enjoyed by visitors, residents, etc. My boss, a State Senator at that time, had a close friend who owned a collection of paintings by a rather well known Czech Impressionist, Kamil Kubik. A lunch was arranged for us to meet to discuss our ideas and the rest is history. I immediately adored this artist, his temperament and above all else, his work. My mother was Czech so Kamil and I had an immediate connection that turned into a lifelong friendship. He gladly accepted our project and once it ended (which took almost 10 years since we commissioned only one painting per year) Kamil, his wife Joanna and I continued to maintain a strong friendship. We visited often.... even sharing holdays.
Kamil was an extremely accomplished artist but not so great a businessman. I began helping him to market his work and during those years he began to give me some of his more popular prints and eventually, a few of his originals as well. By the time he died, I had a massive amount of his art and still do to this day. I love almost everything Kamil created therefore, deciding what to part with has been extremely difficult. Each one reminds me of Kamil. He was such a terrific person, spoke 5 languages, loved people and especially loved New York City. He did projects for the NY YANKEES, DONALD TRUMP, WALL STREET ORGANIZATIONS, THE PLAZA HOTEL and he created a world wide series of paintings of hotels for THE RITZ CARLTON HOTEL organization. He was first discovered in New York City by former First Lady Barbara Bush who happened to wander into his studio during a walk with her daughter. Their connection was immediate and developed into a deep friendship that brought Kamil to Washington DC after George Bush Sr. was elected President. Kamil painted his inauguration and then created the White House Holiday cards for not one year.....but TWO. Everyone loved Kamil's easy, impressionistic style. He could create a complete piece of art in an afternoon but would also continue to work on something FOREVER. He never felt like his work was finished.
As always, he would start his day with a swim at the local Y, practice his YOGA and then begin working either in his studio or at a specific location. Sadly, on a particular Fall morning, he suffered a massive stroke that left him paralyzed and ultimately in need of 24 hour care. It was a devastating turn for this man who had lived such a strong, active and healthy life. He continued selling most of what he had created before eventually developing pneumonia and in 2011, quietly passing away. I had continued to help him during that horrifying time and was blessed....just by chance....... to be the person sitting with him on the evening he left us. I still miss him terribly but am surrounded by this beautiful art which keeps him and his spirit ever present and alive. The WORLD CUP SOCCER hangs in my kitchen and is a favorite of both of my sons. My husband is a Veteran and loves THE BATTLESHIP NEW JERSEY which was part of the NJ series I had commissioned Kamil for so many years ago. We all love THE NY YANKEES, CAPE MAY, THE BARNEGAT LIGHTHOUSE, the NJ STATE HOUSE and more. There are numerous WALL STREET subjects and then just as many majestic WASHINGTON DC subjects that Kamil painted because of his close friendship with PRESIDENT AND MRS. BUSH. His adoration for NEW YORK CITY is present in every single subject he painted of this City.....CENTRAL PARK, LITTLE ITALY, BROOKLYN BRIDGE, NY CITY MARATHON, THE UNTIED NATIONS, THE PLAZA... and so many more. I know this is long....but I want people to know who Kamil was, what he did and how much I loved being a part of his life. Please ask me any questions you may have, I am happy to try to help if possible. I promise you will love anything you buy of Kamil Kubik's work and for sure, he would love that you wanted something he created. I'm sure he is still painting somewhere!!! :)
