Description
Lot of 2 Antique KPM Plates (Krister Porzellan Manufaktur) #685 Different Trim.Part number for both is 685 but the gold trim around the edge is different.
This item is not the KPM, produced by Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur (founded by C.S. Rausch), which used the Sceptre as their pottery mark.
One of Rausch's employees, Carl Franz Krister, started his own facility in 1831 naming it Krister Porzellan Manufaktur and also marked his work with "KPM".
He used a horizontal straight line instead of a scepter as a "similar" mark.
Because of the quality of the porcelain, which was exceptional, Krister was able to obtain many wealthy customers and his porcelain his porcelain earned medals at the 1852 and 1867 Paris exhibitions.
My research shows that these plates were made before 1890.
Size: 8 inches across.
Condition: Good. No cracks, dents, or markings of any kind. Some wear on the gold along the edge.
