Description
A absolutely beautiful KPM 9 3/4" diameter plate with an Aves (bird) theme. Subject is male and female crested birds standing on bank by water. There are 10 other plates and a charger that came with this plate that are or will be listed separately. Manufacturer markings, on underside, include KPM with red cross, orb and under glazed blue scepter. Also seen are either the painter's or gilder's marks, style number and incised lettering. These markings indicate a manufacturer date circa 1840 - 1917 time. Further research could probably narrow the date. All artistry and decoration is hand painted with heavy gold gilt floral decoration around perimeter. Porcelain is a pure white with a band of light green within the gilt decoration. I've included several pictures to show the art and markings on the back, but have more if interested. My amateur photography absolutely does not do justice to this plate; much more spectacular in person!!!
I have had the entire set for 15 + years and am only selling because I have never displayed; due to fear of breakage. Seems a crime to have them packed in a box.
The entire set was taken to the 2007 Baltimore Antique Road Show and verified to be authentic by expert appraisers.
If you have any questions or would like additional pictures; please ask and I'll try to answer or accommodate.
Shipping, of this item, will require direct signature receipt and fully insured. If you are an international buyer and wish to purchase this tray or any of the plates; you must arrange shipment to someone in the continental U.S. or a company in the continental U.S.A that handles international shipping. I had a customer use a company called Stackry without any problems. My default shipping selection may or may not be the best or least expensive to your location, therefore If you purchase one of my items and have a shipping preference; just tell me; I'm willing to accommodate. The best options are to request an estimate before purchase or wait for an invoice from me, not Ebay, after purchase; that way you will know the true cost.
Finally, I will describe items with as much detail and accuracy as possible, but there is a small chance I may miss something minor. This tray is 100 (+ -) years old and is being sold as is and not returnable. This is not a reflection on the condition or quality of any of the items I sell. My feedback is a testament to my customer service, quality of merchandise and honesty. Thanks for looking.
