    OSHA updated its Hazard Communication Regulation (29 CFR 1910.1200) in May of 2012 to align its regulation with GHS (The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals). As the current regulation had been in place for roughly 30 years, a change of this magnitude requires a significant amount of time and detail to planning and training. OSHA is mandating that all employees covered under the 29 CFR 1910.1200 regulation to have initial training on these changes and the GHS elements by December 1, 2013.
