    Description

    Offered is this antique business letter handwritten on letterhead paper of the banking office of J. Thompson, whose office was at No. 2 Wall Street in New York City. The letter is dated Oct. 1, 1855 and was written to Jesse Lamberth of Rome, Georgia. The document is approx. 10" x 7 3/4" and is in good condition for its age. Other than a few tiny pinholes I see no holes or tears. There are creases along the fold lines and some light foxing but the writing is generally readable.
