19th Century KPM Berlin Wilhelm I Royal Blue & Gold Floral Oversized Cup & SaucerIncredible, very large late 19th century porcelain oversized cup and saucer. Nicely decorated with a portrait of Wilhelm I framed in Sevres style gold gilding. The overall background of the outside of the cup and saucer are a royal blue with gold gilt roses and scrollwork overlay. The inside of the cup and the handle of the cup are fully gilded. Marked on the bottom with the blue scepter mark and an overglaze red globe used by KPM Berlin.
Wilhelm Friedrich Ludwig von Hohenzollern, 22 March 1797 – 9 March 1888), of the House of Hohenzollern was King of Prussia from 2 January 1861 and the first German Emperor from 18 January 1871 to his death, the first Head of State of a united Germany.
Has some wear to the gilding in the center of the saucer, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
The cup measures approximately 6 inches wide including the handle x 3 inches tall.
The saucer measures approximately 7 1/2 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
